The UK has completed the investigation into the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall
The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has completed the investigation of the criminal case of the terrorist attack committed on March 22, 2024 at the Crocus City Hall concert hall. According to the investigation, members of the Vilayat Khorasan terrorist organization, banned in Russia, and their accomplices participated in the attack. The criminal case against 19 people has been sent to the prosecutor for transfer to the court.
The accused, depending on their role in the preparation and implementation of the crime, are held accountable under articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation related to terrorism, illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives, as well as participation in the activities of a terrorist organization.
According to the investigation, preparations for the terrorist attack began several months before it was committed. Some of the defendants arrived in Russia from abroad after completing training, while others operated inside the country, searching for weapons, modifying them, and transporting them. The weapons were delivered through the city of Kaspiysk to the Moscow region. The investigation also has information about the planning of another terrorist attack in the Kaspiysk entertainment complex. This crime was prevented.
As a result of the attack in Crocus City Hall, 149 people were killed, one is missing, and another 609 people were injured in various degrees of severity. The total damage is estimated at 6 billion rubles.
The UK reports that the terrorist attack was planned in the interests of the current leadership of Ukraine in order to destabilize the situation in Russia. After the attack, the perpetrators tried to escape, including on the territory of Ukraine, but they were detained in the Bryansk region. Some accomplices were also detained while trying to leave the territory of Russia.
The preliminary investigation continues with respect to 2 organizers and 2 participants of the terrorist organization.
