
87 percent of Russians carry small change with them
According to a study conducted by the Central Bank, the majority of Russians in 2024 carried cash with them in addition to bank cards. 84% of the respondents carried banknotes worth more than 300 rubles. 32% of the respondents who preferred non-cash payment carried cash in the amount of more than 1 thousand rubles. Another 33% of respondents received cash in the amount of 1 to 3 thousand rubles, and 19% of respondents received cash in the amount of more than 3 thousand rubles.
As for coins, in 2024, 87% of Russians surveyed had coins with them. Of these, 53% had coins worth more than 50 rubles. 30% of respondents carried from 50 to 100 rubles in small change with them. And 23% of the respondents had change worth more than 100 rubles.
