Moose accidents have become more frequent on the roads of the Kirov region

Kirov drivers are asked to be especially careful on the roads because of the seasonal migration of wild animals. During this period, animals, especially young moose, often enter the roadway, which often leads to accidents.

Since the beginning of the week, five accidents involving moose have occurred in the region. Two of them were recorded overnight on the Kirov—Kotelnich highway. One incident was reported on the Sovetsky Tract, the Southern Bypass of Kirov and on the railway tracks in the Oktyabrsky district of the city.

The peak activity of animals on the roads occurs at the end of May and June. Young individuals leave their families and seek new territories, often crossing roads, suddenly running out in front of cars. In such cases, it can be extremely difficult to avoid a hit-and-run.

In addition, moose began to appear more often in populated areas. This year they were seen in the center of Vyatskiye Polyany and at the Novovyatsky District Court.

The authorities remind you not to approach wild animals and try to interact with them. When encountering a moose in the city or on the highway, it is necessary to remain calm and, if necessary, report the incident by calling 112.
