The prosecutor's office "beat out" money from the Falen administration for the repair of municipal housing

      A 68-year-old local resident contacted the prosecutor's office of the Falen district and said that she was forced to spend her own funds on repairing municipal housing.

      During the inspection, it was established that the woman and her husband, on the basis of a social employment contract, have been living in a municipal apartment in an apartment building on Zavodskoy St., Falenki village, since 1983. During the entire stay, the apartment was renovated only by the tenants, without the participation of the owner, the administration of the Falen municipal district, the prosecutor's office of the Kirov region reported.

      In August 2023, the wooden windows and window blocks of the pensioners' apartment fell into disrepair. An elderly couple applied to the local administration with a request to replace the window blocks in the apartment, but the appeal did not cause a proper reaction from the administration. For this reason, pensioners independently organized the replacement of window blocks. For these purposes, the couple spent their own savings — about 70 thousand rubles.

      "Protecting the property and housing rights of pensioners, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the court to recover compensation for expenses incurred from the municipal authorities," the regional prosecutor's office said.

      After reviewing the case, the court satisfied the claims. The execution of the court's decision is under the control of the Falen district Prosecutor's Office.
