In Kirov, bank employees saved a pensioner from losing her apartment and 4 million rubles.
In Kirov, bank employees prevented a major fraud, which could have been the victim of a pensioner. Unknown persons contacted the woman via WhatsApp messenger, introducing themselves as employees of the Pension Fund and the FSB. Under the pretext of recording a pension recalculation, the attackers tried to gain access to her funds.
After learning that the woman had no cash, they changed tactics: they offered her to sell the apartment, allegedly "to protect against resale" by other scammers. The pensioner believed and made a deal through a real estate company. The buyer transferred more than 4 million rubles to her bank account.
When the woman contacted the bank to withdraw money, the staff became suspicious. They tried to convince the client not to rush to cash out and contacted her relatives. Thanks to their actions, the funds were saved, but the criminal plan failed.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The police are identifying the intruders and urging citizens to be vigilant, especially with regard to elderly relatives. The agency reminds: you should not trust strangers in messengers and make transactions with property without careful verification of information.
