
Poultry instead of meat: Kirovstat told what Kirov residents eat
Kirovstat presented the results of a survey of residents of the region conducted in 2023. As noted in the department, during the survey, Kirov residents emphasized the importance of a healthy diet.
Thus, 39.6% of respondents consider it important to eat enough fruits and vegetables, 43.1% consider dietary diversity important, and 23.9% consider the availability of fiber in the diet.
In addition, 26.2% of respondents noted the importance of moderate salt use, 18.7% adhere to a low—sugar diet, and 16.1% adhere to a sufficient amount of bread, cereals, rice, and pasta.
At the same time, 94.7% of respondents noted that they have breakfast every day or almost every day. 3% have breakfast several times a week, and 1.8% indicated that they do not have breakfast at all. At the same time, the proportion of men who do not have breakfast is higher than the proportion of women: 3% and 0.8%, respectively.
91.6% of respondents said they take hot meals several times a day. 8.3% eat hot food once a day, and 0.1% do not eat hot food at all.
Kirovstat noted that more than 70% of households in the Kirov region use lean meat or fish in their diet, and poultry is eaten instead of meat.
