Oleg Valenchuk: "Greenland" is the voice of the people and the echo of the Great Victory
The Greenlandia Author's Song Festival (6+), chaired by State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk, has long outgrown the scope of an ordinary musical event. It has become an integral part of the cultural life of the Kirov region, bringing together talented people of the region. The authors, performers, and creative teams of the region form the core of the participants, actively manifesting themselves in both face-to-face and correspondence competitions.
This year, Greenlandia has proposed a large-scale creative project dedicated to significant dates: the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, announced by the President of Russia. The contest has become a real celebration of patriotism and talent, bringing together works reflecting the most diverse facets of these important topics. He allowed residents of the Kirov region to express their feelings and thoughts in songs, poems, social videos and drawings.
The competition was divided into several categories, each of which allowed the participants to unleash their creative abilities in their own way. So, among the poets, the jury awarded the first place to Vladimir Plekhov. It is noteworthy that for many years in a row he has been actively involved in the main and correspondence all-Russian competitions of Greenland and has repeatedly become a diploma winner of the festival. This time, the author's victory was brought by his poem "The Unknown."
As Vladimir Plekhov admitted, his acquaintance with poetry began in childhood, in elementary school – timid, childish attempts to put words into rhyme. However, the real passion for poetry came much later, during his student years, after returning from the army.
– Then, as if a dam had burst, and I plunged into the world of poetry with my head, – the poet confessed. – Now I am firmly convinced that my whole future life is inextricably linked with creativity, with this exciting process of the birth of poetry from the depths of the soul. My love for my Homeland, for its vast expanses, for its unique nature and, of course, for the rich Russian language is the basis of my creativity.
According to the results of the competition, the participants who took the first three places in each nomination will receive diplomas of laureates and cash prizes. You can get acquainted with the names and works of the winners in the official VKontakte group of the festival. The drawings of the youngest contestants are also posted here.
– Greenland is the voice of the people and the echo of the Great Victory, rushing through the centuries. Patriotism, family values and the memory of the exploits of our ancestors are the key areas that define the spirit of the festival,– Oleg Valenchuk said. – And the regional contest "About exploits, about valor, about glory" once again demonstrated the richness of the spiritual world of the inhabitants of Vyatka land and their unwavering loyalty to historical values, traditions of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers.
