Kirov hunters plan to "incite" a bear
At a meeting of the hunting council under the regional Ministry of Environmental Protection, the issue of bears breeding in the Kirov region was discussed. According to Timur Abashev, the Minister of Environmental Protection of the region, about 5,500 bears currently live in the forests of the region. The extraction of clubfoot at the level of 1,350 pieces is safe for the ecosystem. "However, the annual development is about 300 individuals. Uncontrolled population growth can lead to an increase in predator entry into populated areas," Abashev said.
As a result of the meeting, it was recommended to reduce the cost of hunting a bear, which will allow for more effective control of its numbers. In addition, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov region will send a proposal to the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to exclude the bear from the quota of animal species.
It should be recalled that in early May of this year, it became known that in the village of Sorvizhi, Arbazhsky district, a bear had repeatedly entered the outskirts and the center of the village. The Ministry, together with the hunting user JSC Kirovohota, decided to seize the dangerous animal. Employees of the hunting farm organized a search and capture of the bear. On the night of May 6-7, the animal was captured.
