Kirovstat has counted catering establishments

      According to Kirovstat, at the end of 2024, there were 812 canteens of educational institutions, industrial enterprises and other organizations in the region with a total number of seats of about 56 thousand. There were 298 public canteens and snack bars, 766 restaurants, cafes and bars with 14 thousand and 28 thousand seats, respectively. At the same time, there were an average of 12.3 places in public canteens and snack bars per 1,000 people in the Kirov region, and 24.7 places in restaurants, cafes and bars.

      In 2024, the turnover of public catering in the Kirov region amounted to 20.9 billion rubles, an increase of 9.9% compared to 2023 in comparable prices.

      According to Kirovstat, the majority of the turnover of public catering was formed by small businesses. The rest was accounted for by large businesses, which are mainly represented by catering organizations in social facilities: canteens at enterprises, in medical institutions and schools.

      In 2024, food and drinks in public catering establishments cost each resident of the region an average of 18,500 rubles. In 2023, each resident of the region spent an average of 14 thousand 900 rubles on meals outside the home.
