In 2024, wholesale trade in the Kirov region increased by 9%

      In 2024, the wholesale trade turnover in the Kirov region amounted to 429.7 billion rubles. This is 9% more than in 2023, Kirovstat reported.

      The bulk of the products, amounting to 362.3 billion rubles, were sold by companies and individual entrepreneurs for whom wholesale trade is their main activity. Almost half of the total turnover (42%) was provided by specialized supplies of fuel, timber, metals and chemical products. Another 22% accounted for the sale of food, beverages and tobacco.

      Most often, goods were purchased from suppliers from other regions of Russia, and sold in the Kirov region. At the same time, most organizations resold their products no more than twice.

      Kirovstat also assessed the situation in the industry through surveys. At the end of 2024, 86% of the heads of wholesale organizations described the economic situation of their companies as satisfactory. Another 10% considered it favorable, and 4% considered it unfavorable. The main problems turned out to be low customer solvency, expensive logistics, and high taxes. At the beginning of 2025, 68% of market participants do not expect significant changes. 14% hope for improvement, 18% fear the situation will worsen.In April, food and travel prices rose in the Kirov region. Every fourth kilometer of the region's heating networks needs to be replaced. Apartments in the primary and secondary housing markets rose in the Kirov region.
