Nikolai Lokotosh, the former head of cultural institutions in Kirovo-Chepetsk, has died.

      On May 10, Nikolai Lokotosh died in Kirovo-Chepetsk. In December, he celebrated his 90th birthday. Nikolai Viktorovich was an iconic figure in the cultural sphere of the city. In particular, he headed the Druzhba Palace of Culture and the Center for Culture and Leisure. He received the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation in 1995 and the Tereshchenko City Prize in 2005.

      Residents of Kirovo-Chepetsk remember Nikolai Lokotosh as an amazing person and a talented organizer. Under his leadership, the city's mass events became incredibly large-scale, impressive and beautiful. Even in difficult times, he found the opportunity to support creative teams, helping them develop and perform on the stages not only of the city and region, but also of the whole country, as well as abroad. Thanks to his participation and support, many residents of Kirovo-Chepetsk, who worked in amateur groups and clubs, were able to find their vocation and become professional artists, directors and musicians.

      The administration of Kirovo-Chepetsk and the City Duma expressed their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Nikolai Viktorovich. Information about the date and place of the farewell will be published later.
