The central bank has maintained its key rate

Today, on April 25, the Central Bank decided to keep the key rate at the same level: 21% per annum, according to the regulator's website.

As noted in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the current inflationary pressure, including steady, continues to decrease, although it remains high. And the growth of domestic demand continues to significantly outstrip the possibilities of expanding the supply of goods and services.

"At the same time, according to operational data, the economy has begun to gradually return to a balanced growth trajectory. The Bank of Russia will maintain such tight monetary conditions as are necessary to return inflation to its target in 2026," the Central Bank said.

The regulator's website reports that further decisions on the key rate will be made depending on the speed and sustainability of the decline in inflation and inflation expectations. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation plans to average the key rate of 19.5% - 21.5% per annum in 2025 and 13% - 14% per annum in 2026. According to the forecast of the Bank of Russia, annual inflation will decrease to 7% -8% this year, and return to 4% in 2026.
