The Prosecutor's office of the Murashinsky district of the Kirov region conducted an audit of the implementation of legislation in the field of countering crimes using modern IT technologies.
The department found that a 71-year-old resident of the Murashinsky district suffered from fraudsters who deceived him and took possession of 20 thousand rubles of the pensioner. A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
When interacting with the operational services of the police, it turned out that the stolen money was transferred for subsequent cashing to the checking account of a front person (dropper) who lives in the Rostov region.
"Defending the rights of a pensioner who, due to difficult life circumstances, cannot independently defend his interests in civil proceedings, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the court demanding the recovery of the amount of unjustified enrichment, as well as interest for the use of other people's funds," the regional prosecutor's office said. The court reviewed the statement of claim and satisfied the prosecutor's demands.
As a result, the stolen money was returned to the pensioner.
