The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will remind Russians about the safe use of chargers
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is beginning to distribute memos with recommendations on the safe use of chargers. Electronic materials will be sent to users who purchase them in online stores.
The memos contain key tips for using chargers aimed at preventing domestic incidents. In particular, experts pay attention to a common mistake — leaving the charger plugged in after charging. This, according to representatives of the department, can lead to serious consequences due to possible voltage surges in the power grid.
"Users of mobile phones and other devices often leave the charger plugged in when it is no longer necessary to use it. This can lead to irreparable consequences, taking into account possible power surges in the power grid. We urge everyone to take care of this issue, to have conversations with children," the Information Policy Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
This initiative is part of a large—scale educational program of the department. Previously, fire safety guidelines had already been distributed to buyers of fire extinguishers, fire detectors, and pyrotechnic products.
