Traffic lights will be installed on six road sections in Kirov.

      At a meeting of the traffic safety commission, the head of the city State Traffic Inspectorate, Andrei Fominykh, noted that 19 places with high accident rates remain in Kirov. To reduce accidents, traffic lights will be installed in five problematic areas:

      the intersection of Nekrasov and Oktyabrsky Streets,

      a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Proezdaya and Zapovednaya streets,

      a pedestrian crossing at house No. 10a on Lomonosov Street,

      the intersection of Pavel Korchagin and Bauman Streets (traffic light),

      a pedestrian crossing at house No. 18 on Surikov Street,

      a pedestrian crossing on squares of the XX Party Congress.

      The problem of improper parking, which creates emergency situations, was also discussed during the meeting. The head of the city, Elena Kovaleva, called on the traffic police to use the Parkon system more actively to fix violations.

      In addition, the commission considered the possibility of introducing one-way traffic on Proletarskaya Street. During the survey, the opinions of the townspeople were divided, but the deputies supported the option of moving from Kazanskaya Street towards Lenin Street.

      At the end of the meeting, the authorities stressed the importance of preventing child injuries on the roads and suggested that educational institutions and specialized centers should be more actively involved in this.
