Novovyatsk celebrates its 70th anniversary

      March 28, 1955 is considered the date of the foundation of Novovyatsk — on this day, the workers' settlements of Vyatsky and Lesozavodsky were united and transformed into a city of regional subordination. Today Novovyatsk is a district of the city of Kirov and continues to grow, develop and modernize.

      The mayor of Kirov, Elena Kovaleva, congratulated the residents on the anniversary.: "The history of Novovyatsk may be only 70 years old, but it is filled with many events. We must remember those who lived and worked here, who glorified their homeland on the battlefields and in factory halls. Today, new generations continue the work of their ancestors. Over the years, a beautiful, cozy, modern neighborhood has grown up, where you can live, work, create families and engage in creativity. May this anniversary become a starting point for new achievements!"

      Today, industrial enterprises, schools, kindergartens, medical and cultural institutions, and sports facilities are located in the district. The territorial administration of the Novovyatsky district notes that in recent years parks and squares have been actively improved here, roads are being repaired, and the company's production is being expanded.

      Roman Beresnev, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region, stressed the importance of further development of the region: "The ski factory and the mechanical plant have been modernized, new enterprises have appeared. The changes are continuing now thanks to the active position of caring residents. Ahead is the construction of a tunnel under the Transsib, a stand—in for Lenin Street, which will give the area a new impetus for development."

      Novovyatsk is proud of its heroes: the names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union Nikolai Grukhin, Alexander Rukhlyadyev, Alexander Oparin have entered history. Pantelei Kushkov, Lev Gusakov, Ivan Skurikhin, Lyudmila Kulikova became honorary citizens.

      Note that Kirovo-Chepetsk will also celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2025. In honor of this, the governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, promised to allocate 1 billion rubles for the improvement of the city.
