In Kirov, the residents of the hostel have been living practically without hot water for several years

For several years, there have been problems with hot water in the hostel at 28 Pushkin Street: it only happens at night, and then not always. People living there have to heat water in pots and kettles during the day, and then go to the communal shower with it. For example, 75-year-old Nina Eroshina does this. The pensioner spends about an hour and a half just to take a shower. Her neighbor, Anastasia Burkova, is saved by an electric kettle. So, to get ready for work, she needs to pour water into the kettle and heat it at least 4 times.

Families with young children have the most difficult time. Oksana Marusina lives with her two-year-old son, and her daughter was born 2 months ago. The woman herself goes to the sauna, and warms the water for the kids. She conducts water treatments in a baby tub, which stands in the room.

At the same time, residents need to pay money for hot water regularly. There are no counters there, so they pay the receipts according to the standard. People contacted their management company, however, it turned out that the boiler was unattended and residents' money could not be spent on its repair. Kirov residents wrote to GJI, but after the visit of the inspection staff, the hot water appeared for several days, and then disappeared. Then the residents could not stand it and turned to the Kirov branch of the All-Russian Popular Front for help.

As noted by public activists, the water is heated in a heating unit located in a neighboring five-story building. In March of this year, as part of the concession agreement, the boiler is planned to be transferred to a resource supply company, then the heat exchanger should be put in order. The ONF also sent an appeal to the prosecutor's office in order to achieve recalculation of the fee for the lack of hot water.
