Kirov IT specialists and creatives are ready for test tasks for the sake of work, but PR managers are not always
In Kirov, representatives of various professional fields react differently to the practice of test assignments when applying for a job. According to a SuperJob study, software testers are the most willing to respond to jobs that require entrance tests. As many as 60% of specialists in this field are always ready to complete a test task, and another 24% approach it selectively. Analysts attribute this willingness to high competition in the IT labor market, which is actively sought by graduates of online schools.
The second line of the rating is occupied by designers, editors and copywriters. About 45% of representatives of these professions are always ready to complete a test task, especially if it takes no more than 2 hours, there is no similar case in the portfolio, or if the test task is paid for. Another 46-47% of specialists in these fields respond to vacancies with tests selectively. Experts believe that the portfolio should already speak for them. In addition, they recognize that they compete in the labor market not only with humans, but also with artificial intelligence, which also motivates them to take tests.
Sales managers are divided in their opinions: 39% always perform tests, 37% act selectively, and 24% refuse any offers to undergo aptitude testing.
The situation is similar among programmers and marketers: the majority (54% and 52%, respectively) perform test tasks selectively. Only 16% of developers and 33% of marketing managers always respond to vacancies involving entrance tests.
PR managers show the least willingness for professional testing. Only 30% always agree to tests, 47% – only occasionally, and 23% do not consider vacancies with additional tasks at all, arguing that they have successful cases and actively maintain social networks. One of the respondents sarcastically noted: "There are links to successful cases in the portfolio, I run my own TV channel. What kind of testing?!"
