A new rescue station has been opened in Pobedilovo

      According to the regional government, the rescue station was built according to the national project "Comprehensive plan for modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure" for round-the-clock duty of firefighters and rescuers ensuring flight safety.

      Alexey Zherdev, the first deputy chairman of the government of the Kirov region, noted that the station was built with the involvement of federal money. Its opening is another step in the development of Kirov airport. "The repair of the access road to the airport and the repair of the runway are ahead," Zherdev said.

      Earlier, the station was located at a distance from the airport, and it took time for rescuers to arrive at the site. The new station is located right next to the runway, which will ensure prompt response to possible emergencies. The area of the new station is 565.6 "squares", it allows you to accommodate the necessary special vehicles and about 60 employees.

      The old station was built in Pobedilovo in the 60s of the last century, when there were other requirements for the operation of airports. "Now large planes are arriving at the airport, large fire trucks are needed, but they simply could not fit into the old station. We had to enlarge the doorways and gate openings. All employees could not accommodate in the old conditions," said Andrey Rysev, head of the Fire and Emergency Flight Support Service at Pobedilovo Airport.
