Residents of Vyatka Polyana have been forced to climb under trains for 10 years
The OFN regional department said that the Ministry of Transport of the region did not deal with the substance of the appeal of the residents of Vyatka Polyana to the direct line of the president. According to the ministry, the local administration has enough resources to independently solve the problem of transport accessibility for residents of houses along Cooperativnaya Street.
The activists recalled that eight apartment buildings along Cooperative Street in Vyatskiye Polyany are cut off from the main part of the city. There is a kindergarten, a school, medical facilities and a public transport stop behind the railway. There is no safe passage across the railway tracks nearby, which is why people are forced to climb under freight trains, risking their lives.
There is an official crossing over the railway tracks on Toymenka Street, but it is more than a kilometer away along the Corporate Road, where there are no lighting or sidewalks. No one will build a bridge at the crossing point of the railway tracks by local residents — the population is too small. Local residents understand this, so they suggested that the Vyatskopolyanskaya administration organize a bus service to their homes, which would allow people to safely get to social institutions. The authorities of Vyatka Polyana agreed with the reasonableness of this idea, but they claim that the bus cannot be started without repairing the roadway.
Local residents applied to participate in the Project to support Local Initiatives, but were unable to compete with larger applications. The regional Ministry of Transport, in response to an official appeal from the Popular Front, replied that the Vyatskopolyan administration had received subsidies in the amount of just over 193 million rubles, and with this money the city administration could solve any transport problems.
The ONF of the region noted that residents of houses on Cooperative Street have been contacting various authorities for 10 years, but they cannot achieve anything. "We believe that the rights of residents of Cooperativnaya Street have been violated. We have sent an appeal to the prosecutor's office," the regional department of the ONF reported.
