The Kirov social fund has "shrunk" by almost 70 percent.
The Social Fund of Russia's Kirov Region has significantly reduced the area of premises it rents for work over the past three years. The volume of rented space has decreased by 69.9%. During this period, the fund has given up more than 3,200 square meters of rented premises. Their share in the total volume of used space has dropped from over 16% to 5.6%. The Social Fund explained that the reduction in rental space is related to the optimization of the property complex. Most of the buildings in use are state-owned, so the need for some of the rented premises has disappeared. Sergey Chirkov, the chairman of the Social Fund of Russia, reported that over the past three years, the fund has given up more than 260,000 square meters of rented space across the country. According to him, this has allowed for significant savings in budget funds. The freed-up resources are planned to be used more rationally, including for social payments and improving the quality of services for citizens.
