The herd of "super pigs" in the Afanasyevsky district continues to scare residents.
In the Afanasyevsky District of the Kirov Region, the free movement of a herd of hybrids of wild boars and domestic pigs has been recorded for several years. Local residents report that the animals appear in gardens, agricultural fields, cemeteries, and even on the roads in the village of Biserovo, as well as in the villages of Zharkovy and Alyoshkiny. Over the past year, their numbers have increased, and incidents of aggression have become more frequent.
One incident occurred in July of this year in the forest. A father and his 12-year-old daughter, who were picking mushrooms, encountered a herd of hybrids. The child had to climb a tree while the man shouted to scare off the animals. This case confirms that the threat to the life and health of people is real.
The "super pigs," as they are called by the locals, have an owner. He keeps them in enclosures in the village of Nopiny, from where the animals escape to roam freely. The district administration conducted tagging of the herd and involved hunters for culling, but these measures are considered insufficient by the residents.
The situation has been taken under control by the People's Front, which sent an appeal to the prosecutor's office. During the inspection, it was revealed that the owner of the animals had unlawfully occupied a plot for the enclosures for a long time. The administration had the opportunity to take measures for his "eviction," but they were not implemented. Furthermore, complaints from the population have been coming in since 2024, but they were not responded to for a long time.
As a result of the prosecutor's inspection, a proposal to eliminate violations has been submitted to the district administration. The People's Front is keeping the situation under control.

Hybrids of wild boars and domestic pigs, which have been freely roaming the Afanasyevsky district for several years, still pose a threat to people. After the People's Front appealed to the prosecutor's office, it was revealed that the administration had long ignored the complaints of villagers, and the owner of the animals had unlawfully occupied land for enclosures. Violations have been ordered to be rectified.
