The Slobodsky Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office supported the charges against a 35-year-old local resident, found guilty under part 2 of article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition of narcotic substances in large quantities).
The crime was committed in the early days of February 2025. The man arranged online to purchase a synthetic drug and retrieved it from a stash in the Slobodsky district. The weight of the seized substance was 5.63 grams. However, he was unable to carry out his plan: the man's illegal actions were interrupted by police officers during operational search activities. The drug was seized.
The court agreed with the position of the prosecution and sentenced him to 3 years and 1 month of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony, as well as a fine of 15,000 rubles. Additionally, the court confiscated the mobile phone that was used in the commission of the crime.
The defendant attempted to appeal the verdict, citing its severity, but the appellate court rejected the appeal. The man proceeded to the place of serving his sentence under escort.
