In Kirov, cameras have started monitoring landfills.
One of the deputies of the Kirov City Duma, together with the city administration, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kirov Region, and the regional operator, implemented a project to install surveillance cameras at problematic waste container sites.
Surveillance has been established in the Sannikovy settlement, the villages of Khabarovy and Sergeyevo, on Bereznikovskaya and Luganskaya streets, as well as on Yepishinsky passage. The cameras cover all possible access points to the sites.
As explained by Ruslan Isupov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources of the Kirov Region, there should be no waste at the container sites that does not relate to solid municipal waste: tires, construction debris, and logging residues. Storing these is considered an administrative offense.
The cameras will record violations, and fines will be imposed on the owners of vehicles used to transport waste. For individuals, the fine will range from 3,000 rubles, and for legal entities, up to 250,000 rubles. In case of repeated violations, the vehicle may be confiscated.
