In September, a new fuel shortage may arise in Russia.
In September, the Novopolotsk Oil Refinery "Naftan" in Belarus is scheduled for planned repairs. Its capacity, like that of the second Belarusian enterprise - the Mozyr Oil Refinery, is about 12 million tons of oil per year.
In recent months, Belarus has partially compensated for the decline in fuel production at Russian plants. According to Reuters, in July the republic supplied record volumes to Russia - about 212,000 tons of gasoline and 162,000 tons of diesel fuel. However, at the beginning of August, Belarusian supplies began to decrease.
In addition to "Naftan," planned repair work is also expected at major Russian oil refineries in September, including those of TAIF. Market participants believe that attacks on oil refining enterprises remain an additional risk. The consequences for production are impossible to predict in advance, but in the event of new shutdowns, they could exacerbate fuel shortages, writes the newspaper "Kommersant."
