Boris Vesnin and Olympic swimming champion Yevgeny Rylov assessed the sports infrastructure of Kirs.
Evgeny Rylov told the kids about his sports journey, shared professional secrets, answered questions, and together with them went out to the track for the relay.
"I am sure that such meetings, where a child can personally communicate with an Olympic champion, ask him a question, and train together, are remembered for a long time," noted Boris Vesnin.
The master class took place at the Aquatoria water sports center, which has been operating in Kirs since 2017. About 10,000 people visit it annually. Children and adults train here, and sports events and GTO standards are held.
Boris Vesnin and Evgeny Rylov also visited the "Sever" sports school and met with the sports activists of the district. The school has 537 children engaged in four areas: basketball, football, modern pentathlon, and cross-country skiing. The students achieve high results in regional and all-Russian competitions, and among the graduates are international class sports masters.
As part of the trip, Boris Vesnin met with the staff of the Verkhnokamsk Comprehensive Center for Social Services and its director Irina Ivashchenko. They discussed the work of the institution and issues of social support. They also talked about the Children's Rehabilitation Center "Okrilyaem," created by Rahim Azimov's team. Kids from the Verkhnokamsk district also underwent rehabilitation there. Specialists note the good conditions for children and the effectiveness of rehabilitation activities.
"The development of sports and social infrastructure is primarily about opportunities for people: for children to engage in sports, for families to receive the necessary help and support. Our joint work with the territories is aimed precisely at such concrete results," emphasized Boris Vesnin.
