In the Kirov region, the number of pensioners has decreased by several thousand.
In total, there were 40,446,936 people registered in the country — this is 409,416 fewer than on the same date in 2025 (40,856,352). At the same time, the number of working pensioners increased by 621,000 over the year, reaching 8.4 million people. The number of non-working pensioners decreased by more than 1 million — from 33.07 million to 32.04 million.
The average pension amount assigned in Russia increased by almost 2,000 rubles over the year — to 25,402 rubles. For working pensioners, the average payment was 23,737 rubles, while for non-working pensioners it was 25,838 rubles.
In the Kirov region, the dynamics mirror the nationwide trend. The number of pensioners decreased from 399,313 (on June 1, 2025) to 393,128 (on June 1, 2026) — a decrease of 6,185 people. At the same time, the number of working pensioners in the region increased from 74,261 to 75,042 (+781 people), while the number of non-working pensioners decreased by 6,966 people (from 325,052 to 318,086).
The average pension in the Kirov region increased over the year from 23,207 to 25,033 rubles (+1,826 rubles). For working pensioners, the payment increased from 20,951 to 23,088 rubles, while for non-working pensioners it rose from 23,723 to 25,492 rubles.
