In Kirov, a pensioner tried to pay in a store with a "joke banknote."

      In Kirov, employees of the National Guard's private security responded to an alarm signal at a store in the Novovyatsky district. The message was received around four o'clock in the afternoon from a retail outlet on Soviet Street. At the scene, the National Guardsmen found out that a 66-year-old customer was trying to pay for her goods with a 1,000-ruble banknote, which turned out to be a souvenir note from the "Bank of Jokes." According to the cashier, the counterfeit banknote was discovered during the payment process. To clarify all the circumstances, the woman was handed over to the police. The National Guard reminded that if store or bank employees have doubts about the authenticity of a banknote, it should not be returned to the presenter. It is necessary to report the incident to law enforcement and, if possible, touch the banknote as little as possible to preserve any potential fingerprints.
