In Russia, the list of books containing mentions of narcotic substances that are subject to mandatory labeling has been updated. The new list has been reviewed by the TASS agency.
The updated list includes several popular works of world literature. Among them are Anthony Burgess's novel "A Clockwork Orange" (18+), H.P. Lovecraft's book "The Call of Cthulhu" (18+), as well as works by Stephen King "Doctor Sleep" (18+) and the collection "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" (18+).
Additionally, the labeling requirement applies to Chuck Palahniuk's books "Choke" (18+) and "Haunted" (18+), the biography "Viktor Tsoi. Life and 'Kino'" (18+) by Vitaly Kalgin, as well as Viktor Pelevin's novel "Apollo" (18+).
Previously, requirements were introduced in Russia stating that books mentioning narcotic substances must be accompanied by special labeling. The update of the list means that the specified publications also fall under these rules.
