Kirov residents were reminded how to get their money back for utilities after vacation.
A recalculation is possible if the absence lasted at least five days. The day of departure and the day of return are not included in the calculation.
A portion of the funds can be refunded for hot and cold water supply, sewage, gas, and electricity. However, this can only be done if there are no metering devices in the apartment and there is no technical possibility to install them.
At the same time, the recalculation does not apply to heating, gas supply for heating, as well as fees for the maintenance and repair of common property in apartment buildings and contributions for major repairs. These payments must be made by owners regardless of whether they live in the apartment or not.
To arrange for a recalculation, it is necessary to contact the utility provider that issues the charges. This can be done either before departure or no later than 30 days after returning.
The application will need to include documents confirming the absence. These can be, for example, tickets, a hotel bill, or a certificate from a gardening association. It is recommended to clarify the exact list of documents in advance with the utility provider.
The maximum period for which a recalculation can be arranged is six months, as reported by the State Housing Inspection of the Kirov Region.
