Almost 2,000 cubic meters of contaminated wood were not allowed to be exported from the Kirov region.

      On July 27, in the Oparynsky District of the Kirov Region, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Kirov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIKR" discovered damage characteristic of pests of the genus Monochamus during the inspection of 52 cubic meters of coniferous timber products. The cargo was intended for shipment to the Mari El Republic. The examination confirmed that the sample contained larvae of the large black spruce beetle (Monochamus urussovi Fisch). The cargo owner was issued a directive for chemical disinfection of the wood. Since the beginning of 2026, the Rosselkhoznadzor has recorded 21 cases of quarantine organisms being found in 1,776 cubic meters of timber products intended for shipment from the Kirov Region to the Nizhny Novgorod and Vologda Regions and the Mari El Republic. All infected batches have been detained and are subject to processing.
