The State Duma has completed its work: which Kirov deputies are already leaving, and who will fight for a new mandate.

      Today, July 27, the final plenary session of the State Duma of the VIII convocation took place. Before heading into the election campaign, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin summarized the work of the parliament. According to him, over the past five years, deputies adopted 2,980 federal laws. Almost half of the proposed initiatives came from the deputies themselves, and every fourth adopted law became inter-factional. Among the main areas of work, Volodin mentioned the implementation of the president's messages, legislative support for the special military operation, and decisions based on citizens' appeals. In particular, during the convocation, 183 laws were adopted concerning support for participants of the special military operation and their families, 250 anti-sanction laws, as well as initiatives to ban the sale of vapes and energy drinks to minors, protect citizens from imposed services and collectors, strengthen control over housing and utility tariffs, and others. For the Kirov region, this convocation also became the last for the current composition of deputies. The region was represented in the State Duma by Rahim Azimov, Oleg Valenchuk, Maria Butina, and Vladislav Egorov. At the same time, almost all representatives of the region have already determined their political future. Thus, Rahim Azimov announced back in spring that he would not run for re-election from the Kirov region. He publicly introduced Legislative Assembly Deputy Boris Vesnin as his successor and intends to participate in the elections to the State Duma from the Moscow region. Oleg Valenchuk, who worked in the lower house of parliament for almost twenty years, on the contrary, decided to return to regional politics. He participated in the preliminary voting of "United Russia" for the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov region and will now fight for a deputy mandate at the regional level. Another deputy, Maria Butina, will change regions. Following the results of the "United Russia" primaries, she became the leader of the voting in the Komi Republic and intends to participate in the elections for the new convocation of the State Duma there. Vladislav Egorov, who represented both the Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov regions, also does not plan to run for election from the Kirov region. He is running on the regional list of the Communist Party in the Republic of Mordovia.
