Four residents of Kirov were convicted for embezzling 16 million rubles through social contracts.
In the Kirov region, a sentence has been handed down to four members of an organized crime group. They have been found guilty of fraud in obtaining social payments in particularly large amounts.
The investigation established that from January 2023 to April 2024, the criminals were searching for people and creating fake documents for them to enter into social contracts. Based on these papers, 46 residents of Kirov were provided with one-time payments as a measure of state support. As a result, the budget suffered damage amounting to over 16 million rubles.
The criminal activity was stopped by investigators from the Investigative Committee of Russia in collaboration with employees of regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB. As part of the investigation, more than 110 witnesses were interrogated, about 100 inspections of documents and items were conducted, and necessary expert examinations were appointed. Arrests were made on the property and accounts of the defendants.
The court imposed sentences: one of the convicted received 6 years in a strict regime colony, two received 4.5 and 5 years in a general regime colony. The fourth convicted person received 4 years with a deferral of the sentence due to the presence of a minor child. All were taken into custody in the courtroom.
