Participants of the SVO and their family members will be able to spend money "on firewood" for any purposes.

      At the meeting, Governor Alexander Sokolov announced the adoption of a document that changes the procedure for providing payments for firewood to participants of the special military operation and their family members living in houses with stove heating. According to the official, initially, this category was supplied with firewood, but this led to a sharp increase in prices. Then it was decided to pay in cash, but at the same time, receipts for the firewood had to be provided. New difficulties arose, as most of those who deliver firewood "have no idea what a cash register is," noted Sokolov.

      As a result, the authorities decided to simply transfer money to those entitled to firewood, and people will be able to use it at their discretion and spend it for any purpose. Officials hope that this will help reduce firewood prices and that citizens will not be placed "in a humiliating position." It should be noted that the amount in question is 15,000 rubles. People will not have to confirm their expenses.

      During the meeting, Sokolov also stated that participants of the special military operation and their family members will no longer need to provide additional documents to receive the aforementioned support measure. All information will be confirmed through interdepartmental procedures.
