Kirov residents had their garbage collection fees recalculated by 656 thousand rubles.

      According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region, an inspection was organized following numerous complaints from residents and reports on the internet about the poor quality of garbage collection services during heavy snowfall in January-February 2026.

      The Environmental Prosecutor's Office established that the regional operator systematically violated the deadlines for the removal of solid municipal waste. In Kirov, overflowing container sites were recorded on the streets of Vladimirskaya, Defenders of the Fatherland, Moskovskaya, Truda, Militsionnaya, Proletarskaya, Nagornaya, Herzen, Popov, and others. Similar violations were also identified in Kotel'nich, Kirs, and the village of Svetlopolyansk in the Verkhnekamsky District.

      As a result of the inspection, the Kirov inter-district environmental prosecutor submitted a proposal to the management of the regional operator and demanded a recalculation of fees for the periods when the utility service was provided inadequately.

      After the intervention of the supervisory authority, recalculation was made for more than 2,700 personal accounts. The total amount of funds returned to consumers amounted to 656,000 rubles.
