In Vyatskie Polyany, a little boy sustained serious injuries while playing with fire. The child was taken to the Kirov Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery with burns covering approximately 20% of his body surface. According to preliminary data, the incident occurred the day before in the child's residence. While at home, the 6-year-old boy was playing with a lighter. At some point, his T-shirt caught fire. His mother was at home but did not manage to prevent the incident. Currently, fire supervision specialists and police officers are establishing all the circumstances of what happened. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds parents of the need not to leave small children unattended, to keep matches and lighters in inaccessible places, and to regularly explain the rules for safe handling of fire.
