Drunk driving resulted in a Kirov resident losing his car and a fine of half a million.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region reported on the verdict in the case of a motorist who was caught by inspectors again showing signs of intoxication. The incident occurred on February 3 on Profsoyuznaya Street: the driver of a "Honda Civic" was stopped by traffic police and removed from driving, as he refused to undergo a medical examination.
During the identity check of the offender, it was revealed that the 50-year-old man had already been prosecuted for a similar offense. This circumstance reclassified his actions under part 2 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which significantly tightened the measure of responsibility.
The state prosecution went beyond the standard set of sanctions. The prosecutor filed a motion for the confiscation of the vehicle, citing article 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court agreed with the prosecutor's arguments, imposing a fine of 400,000 rubles and a three-year ban on driving vehicles on the offender. As an additional measure, the vehicle that the man was driving on the day of his arrest was transferred to state ownership.
