Kirov is flooding due to heavy rains, foliage, and other debris.

      After the recent downpour, Kirov began to flood again: water filled the roads, turning them into full-flowing rivers and significantly complicating movement around the city for both cars and pedestrians. The "low" areas were particularly affected. In particular, Oktyabrsky Avenue in the tank area — before the intersection with Profsoyuznaya Street.

      The Kirov city administration reported that contractors have started to address the aftermath of the bad weather. The GDMS reported that some stormwater drains had to be cleared manually, as their capacity had decreased during the rain due to leaves and other debris.

      According to GDMS, flooding was eliminated at the intersections of Lenin and Azin Streets, Pyatnitskaya and Zagorodnaya, Lenin and Albert Likhakov, Profsoyuznaya and Svobody, on Vladimirskaya Street near the botanical garden, and on Komsomolskaya Street near the railway hospital.

      As noted by the Kirov city administration, a reconstruction of the water passage pipe, which has reached the end of its service life, will be carried out at 19 Oktyabrsky Avenue in 2026. Contractors were also tasked with ensuring constant control and monitoring of the condition of low street sections during rain, and removing all mud deposits within a day after the rains.
