In Kirov, at the Victory Park, a memorial event "Star of Heroes" took place, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. At the monument of the 355th Rifle Division, formed in Kirov, residents of the city, representatives of public organizations, veterans, volunteers, and deputies gathered. The event is being held as part of the "City of Good Neighbors" project competition.
The attendees honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence, lit candles of remembrance, and laid flowers at the memorial sign. Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region Boris Vesnin addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of preserving the memory of heroes for future generations. "For us, Russians, preserving historical memory is not just words. It is what unites generations and our entire country. It is memorial events and lessons of courage, the improvement of military memorials and brotherly burials, the work of search teams during the Memory Watch. We are sincerely grateful to the generation of victors for their feat and courage. We remember. And we will remember," noted Boris Vesnin.
During the event, songs from the war years, poems, and words of gratitude to the generation of victors were heard.
