A Kirov resident stole a "Lada Granta" and drove around the neighborhood.

      The owner of a 2002 car contacted the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kirov. Early in the morning, he discovered that his "Lada Granta," left near his house, was missing.

      Criminal investigation department employees quickly identified the suspect and detained him. He turned out to be a previously convicted resident of the regional center born in 1993. During the interrogation, the man explained that he was passing by and noticed a parked car with an unlocked door. In the glove compartment, he found the ignition keys, got behind the wheel, and drove around the neighborhood. Later, the car thief abandoned the vehicle on Pотребкооперации street.

      The police found the car and returned it to the owner. A criminal case has been initiated for theft under part 2 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for up to five years of imprisonment. The amount of damage is being determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
