The prosecutor's office banned logging worth 250 million in Arbazh.
In the Arbazh municipal district of the Kirov region, the arbitration court, at the request of the prosecutor's office, prohibited the economic entity from cutting down trees on the leased plot. The reason was an inspection by the Kirov inter-district environmental prosecutor's office.
It was established that the plot in the Sorvizh forestry was formed on forest fund lands but was leased for agricultural use. At the same time, there is a forest on it with a volume of over 27 thousand cubic meters. The lessee intended to cut it down, and the estimated value of the timber exceeds 250 million rubles.
The prosecutor's office considered this an improper use of forest fund lands and challenged the lease agreement. The supervisory authority filed a lawsuit in the arbitration court to recognize the federal ownership rights to the plot — to prevent damage to the environment.
The lawsuit is currently under consideration, and the prosecutor's office is monitoring the outcome.
