Private housing in the Kirov region accounted for 92% of the total fund.
According to the agency, the total area of the housing stock in the Kirov region at the end of 2025 amounted to 36.7 million square meters. The increase compared to the data at the end of 2024 exceeded 400 thousand square meters. The share of private ownership (of individuals and legal entities) reached 92%. In cities and urban-type settlements, this figure is higher (94%), while in rural areas it is 84%. The increase in private housing is influenced by privatization: in 2025, 1.4 thousand residential premises with a total area of almost 60 thousand square meters were privatized in the region. The area of housing in cities and urban-type settlements is 2.6 times larger than in rural areas. In terms of the share of urban housing stock among the regions of the Volga Federal District, the Kirov region ranked 5th. Almost half of the housing stock (42%) consists of brick houses. In second place are wooden houses, and in third place are panel houses. The region has a total of 735 thousand apartments. Of these, 40% are two-room, 32% are one-room, and 25% are three-room. The average size of an apartment is 50 square meters (34 for one-room, 47 for two-room, 63 for three-room, and 120 square meters for four-room and larger).
