In Karintorf, the wind knocked down several trees: people were left without electricity.
Last night, June 8, a heavy downpour with hail and gusty winds occurred in the Kirovo-Chepetsk district of Karintorf. According to the administration, several trees fell as a result.
On Oktyabrskaya Street, a huge pine tree was uprooted. Miraculously, the falling tree did not hit a two-story residential building or the nearby heating main. Rescuers arrived at the scene and helped residents cut up the pine tree.
On Kooperativnaya Street, a tree also fell. The townspeople removed it themselves.
On Oktyabrskaya Street, a birch tree fell on the heating main. According to officials, there are no visible damages, and rescuers tried to remove the tree without causing any harm.
Several houses were left without electricity. Restoration work in the district is ongoing.
In the comments, people shared that at the intersection of Kooperativnaya and Sovetskaya, a "Rostelecom" pole was severely tilted. Judging by the photos, the fallen tree caught the wires, which pulled down the pole as well.
Residents also complained that they had asked the administration to cut down hazardous trees, but "the situation remains unchanged." "How have the poplars not fallen yet?" wrote one local resident.
