Four courtyards in Kirov were accepted after renovation under the PPMI.

      In Kirov, the acceptance of four more facilities renovated under the local initiative support program took place. The list: Lenin, 179a, Makarenko, 10, Sverdlov, 6a, Kuraginsky Lane, 2.

      In the yard at Lenin, 179a, a driveway, pedestrian paths to the entrances, and new curbs were made. The chairperson of the HOA "Lenin, 179a," Elena Popova, said that there used to be huge puddles here where ducks swam. They submitted an application for the local initiative support program for the first time and passed the competition. Now they want to participate again to repair the access roads to the house.

      Residents at Makarenko, 10 are already experienced. First, they installed a playground, then made a driveway. This year, they paved the parking lot, repaired the sidewalk, and trimmed the trees (crown pruning). The chairperson of the HOA, Olga Baryshnikova, says that at first, they were skeptical about participation, but now there is enthusiasm. Next year, they want to update all the paths in the yard.

      As in other local initiative support program projects, the main part of the funding came from the regional budget, the city added 10%, and residents contributed from 5%. Sponsors and deputies got involved (funds for voter mandates).

      According to Dmitry Medvedev, head of the organizational work department, as of today, work has been completed on 18 facilities, and another 18 are in progress. A total of 69 yards are planned. They aim to finish by the end of summer.

      This week, they promise to accept a few more yards.
