Falkov listed the mandatory subjects for all students.
According to the minister, the list of mandatory subjects will include history, the fundamentals of Russian statehood, philosophy, and the Russian language. These subjects will be taught at all levels and forms of education.
In addition, Falkov reported an increase in the number of budget places — there are 250 more compared to last year, as reported by RIA Novosti.
In March, the government approved a list of professions and specialties across 300 fields of study. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that these changes align with the country's technological leadership goals.
The updates are related to the transition to a new higher education system. The pilot project started in May 2023. Within its framework, students receive basic and specialized higher education. A mass transition is planned for the 2027/2028 academic year.
Recall that we previously reported that the Ministry of Health will introduce a new edition of the list of medical positions starting September 1, 2026. It excluded 16 specialties, including sexologist, and added 11 new ones.
