The Federation Council approved amendments to several federal laws. Now employees of certain organizations will have the right to counteract unmanned aerial vehicles to protect objects under security. This concerns employees of special postal communication, the Bank of Russia, the Russian cash transportation association, and Sberbank. They will be able to take measures to stop the operation of drones near protected areas. The authors of the initiative believe that the changes will help enhance the security of objects and reduce risks to financial infrastructure. The law will come into force after official publication. At the same time, additional regulatory documents will need to be adopted to define the procedure for applying the new powers.
