Russians are also increasingly choosing devices that help them not depend on a power outlet: sales of universal external batteries with a capacity of 6,000 to 11,000 mAh increased by almost 40%, while those with a capacity of 16,000 mAh increased by 24%.
Users showed particular interest in smart home devices — their purchases increased by 88%. Along with this, during the peak season for trips to the countryside, there was also a rise in demand for smartwatches for children (+21%) and transponders for car travel (+86%).
Tablets were especially popular among Russians in May — their purchases increased by 70%. Samsung devices lead the way, particularly the compact Galaxy Tab A11. The top models also included the iPad 2025 11, Galaxy Tab A11+, and Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. In terms of sales dynamics, Apple tablets took first place, with the most purchased gadget of the brand being the iPad 2025 11.
"Not everyone perceives a vacation at the dacha or a picnic in nature as an opportunity for a digital detox. For most buyers, it is important to have access to familiar services, music, and movies, wherever they are. We see a growing demand for portable devices, so we regularly expand their range and accompany them with special offers, so customers can get more experiences and comfort from their leisure," noted Vadim Zimin, director of the strategy and sales development department at MegaFon.

In the first two weeks of May, sales of smartwatches and portable speakers increased by 72% and 50%, respectively, compared to the same period in April, analysts found based on sales data from the online store and the combined retail network of MegaFon and Yota.
