The kangaroo was left without shelter, and the monkey without water: violations were revealed in the zoo of the shopping center in Kirov.

      According to the agency, recently the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kirov Region fined an individual entrepreneur — the owner of a zoo located in the shopping center "DjemCity." An unscheduled inspection visit revealed that the activities related to the maintenance and use of animals in this zoo were being carried out with violations.

      During the inspection, it was found that there was no observation log for the animals, where their physical condition, health, feeding, and drinking records should be documented. The zoo owner also did not provide feeding rations and feeding schedules for the animals. There were no veterinary accompanying documents for the animals and feed. The zoo lacked a cleaning log, and veterinary care for the animals was not provided.

      In addition, it was established that the albino kangaroo, parrots, and red-eared tamarin lacked shelters that would facilitate the animals' rest according to their needs. The white-nosed monkey was not provided with constant and unlimited access to fresh drinking water: the water in the drinking bowl was simply absent.

      "These facts indicate violations of mandatory requirements of the Federal Law 'On Licensing Certain Types of Activities'; the Federal Law 'On Responsible Treatment of Animals and Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation'; Requirements for the Use of Animals for Cultural and Entertainment Purposes and Their Maintenance, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation; Veterinary Rules for Organizing Work on the Issuance of Veterinary Accompanying Documents, the Procedure for Issuing Veterinary Accompanying Documents in Electronic Form, and the Procedure for Issuing Veterinary Accompanying Documents on Paper, approved by the order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation," the agency reported.

      In addition, on May 25, 2026, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration issued a warning to the shopping center "DjemCity" about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements for placing the specified zoo next to the public catering establishment "Marshal Grill" and the absence of a building specifically designated for these purposes.
