Opening of the sports ground in Gagarin Park: after a year of saga, Kirov residents were allocated 8 hours a day.

      Today, May 27, the sports school "Soyuz" officially confirmed: starting tomorrow, the sports ground in Gagarin Park will begin operations.

      Let us remind you that the facility was laid in mid-May 2025. Initially, it was promised to be completed by September 1, then the deadline was moved to November 18, then the acceptance was pushed to December, and later to April 2026. In April of this year, officials and deputies gathered at the site — it was then revealed that the contractor had completed the main volume of work, but there were unfinished tasks: the surface in the skate zone and the filling of the football field. These works were excluded from the contract, and the customer began looking for another contractor.

      Now, judging by the administration's message, everything is ready. The contractor has completed the installation of the special surface on the skate park and hockey box — moreover, as the authorities clarify, ahead of schedule. The city administration emphasizes that all locations are safe and ready for activities.

      For reference: most of the work was completed last year. They installed the hockey box (in the summer, a football field will be in its place), a playground, a skate park, and set up outdoor exercise equipment, pull-up bars, and changing rooms.

      But the most interesting part is not this, but the operating schedule. It turns out there will not be free access for everyone who wishes. The sports ground will operate on a schedule:

      from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM — free entry for the public;

      from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM — time for the students of the sports school "Soyuz," as they have training;

      from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM — again free access.

      In total, there are 8 hours a day left for the "people" — in the morning and evening. During daylight hours from two to six, the area will be occupied by athletes.

      By the way, in November 2025, when the construction was not yet completed, children were already playing on this site — the fence was removed then, but the official opening was still pending. Now, it seems, the process has been completed. We just have to wait for May 28 and see how the new schedule will be received by the residents of Kirov.
