Marketplaces have denied rumors about new paid returns and fines for customers.
On social networks and in several media outlets, information appeared the day before that starting June 1, the largest marketplaces would allegedly tighten rules for buyers: they would introduce mass paid returns, shorten the storage period for orders, and limit post-payment. However, the platforms themselves denied this information.
It was reported that Wildberries and Ozon plan to change the terms of payment, delivery, and return of goods. It was expected that the marketplaces intended to abandon the "free fitting" model and start charging for returns of goods of proper quality. It was also reported that post-payment would allegedly only be available to buyers with a high redemption rate, and the period for free storage of orders would be reduced to two to three days.
However, both platforms officially denied the information. Ozon stated that no changes are planned. "The information is not true. We do not plan to introduce changes to the terms of payment, delivery, and return of goods," representatives of the marketplace told Newsler.ru.
A similar comment was given by Wildberries, writes "Lenta.ru." Company representatives stated that the information about new rules, changes in the cost of reverse logistics, and the introduction of additional restrictions is not true.
The company also emphasized that all terms of payment, delivery, and return can still be seen by buyers in advance — before placing an order in their personal account.
